Teaching Methodology
We at Charan’s PU College believe that every student learns differently, and innovative teaching methods offer a variety of approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles. Whether through visual aids, hands-on activities, or collaborative projects, these methods ensure that all students have opportunities to succeed.
Innovative Teaching at Charans
Innovative teaching methodologies aim to engage students in active learning, promote critical thinking, and cater to diverse learning styles. Our experienced faculty keep the students engaged by regularly innovating their teaching styles and methods. Some methods used in Charans are
- Flipped Classroom: Students learn foundational content outside of class through videos, survey projects or group work, allowing class time to be used for discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on activities.
- Project-Based Learning (PBL): Students work on projects that address real-world problems, integrating various subjects and fostering collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Gamification: Applying game design elements and principles in educational contexts to make learning more interactive and engaging. This can include using points, levels, leaderboards, and rewards to motivate and challenge students within the class.
- Peer Instruction: Students learn from each other through structured activities such as peer teaching, group discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. This fosters a sense of community and allows for diverse perspectives to be shared.
- Experiential Learning: Providing hands-on experiences, such as internships, field trips, simulations, and experiments, to help students apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts and gain practical skills.
Innovative Tests and Examinations
Innovative testing methods followed at Charans help assess the progress of student learning in more meaningful and engaging ways. Our faculty regularly carry out various testing methodologies and adapt the teaching style and pace according to the progress of the students. Some of the testing methods are
- Performance-Based Assessments: Instead of traditional tests, students demonstrate their understanding and skills through real-world tasks, projects, presentations, or performances. This could include creating a video, designing a solution to a problem, or conducting a scientific experiment.
- Interactive Quizzes and Games: Instead of traditional paper-and-pencil tests, teachers use interactive quizzes, educational games, and online platforms to assess student knowledge and skills.
- Peer and Self-Assessment: Students assess their own work and that of their peers using established criteria and guidelines. This promotes metacognitive skills, self-reflection, and collaboration while reducing the burden on teachers for grading.
- Open-Ended Questions: Rather than multiple-choice or true/false questions, assessments include open-ended questions that require students to explain their reasoning, provide evidence, and demonstrate understanding in their own words
- Adaptive Testing: Assessments are tailored to each student's individual learning level and progress, allowing for personalized feedback and targeted support.
